BOSTON, MA — Riverside Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on investing in middle market healthcare and technology companies, today announced the addition of medical device and diagnostic industry veteran, Dr. Michael Magliochetti, as an Operating Partner.

Dr. Magliochetti brings over 20 years of successful healthcare operating and acquisition experience to Riverside. Dr. Magliochetti most recently served as the CEO of Claros Diagnostics, a point-of-care in-vitro diagnostic firm, which was honored as one of the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World for 2011 by MIT Technology Review, and acquired by OPKO Health. He previously served as CEO of RMH, Inc., a leading orthopedics company, which was acquired, and as the CEO of both HemaMetrics Corporation and UroSurge Corporation. He has held senior positions with the medical device company Haemonetics Corporation; the polymer products company Delta Surprenant, and has completed an assignment with the U.S. Army Research Command. In addition to serving on Advisory Boards for Boston Children's Hospital and Lahey Clinic, Dr. Magliochetti has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa and consulted with several medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Magliochetti holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, respectively, and a High Technology M.B.A. from Northeastern University. “Riverside came to know Mike over the last several years through his participation in our Healthcare Advisory Board and his service on the Tegra Medical board of directors,” said Philip Borden, General Partner at Riverside Partners. “Mike brings both a depth and a breadth of healthcare experience to Riverside that will strengthen our overall efforts in healthcare investing.
