Investment Summary
In early 2008, Riverside Partners initiated a proprietary targeting project focusing on the renewable energy infrastructure industry. The investment team identified numerous potential target companies and met with dozens of businesses. Alteris Renewables was formed when Riverside Partners funded and led the recapitalizations and subsequent merger of SolarWrights and Solar Works, two of the largest Solar and Wind design, integration and installation service providers in the northeast. The combined company brings together the region's leading designer and installer of commercial solar systems with the region's largest residential solar energy provider.
The owners and managers of both SolarWrights and Solar Works built very successful niche businesses and astutely recognized that a large, well capitalized and diversified integrator would be better able to take advantage of the tremendous growth opportunity in renewable energy. Riverside Partners structured transactions with both companies that not only provided capital for growth but more importantly gave Alteris the additional management, business integration and supply chain expertise that it needed to grow.
